Meet the Team
I was born in Durban, South Africa quite a number of years ago and except for a few years living and travelling in Europe, I have not moved very far from my place of birth. ‘African’ is simply who I am and Africa owns my heart. Seeing my first Rhinoceros at the age of 6 is a memory that will never fade. I fell in love with wildlife there and then. My happy place is being in the wilderness – it feeds my soul. It is almost impossible to name a favourite place as each is so different and unique. I love the smell of the ground after the rain and I can never watch a sunset without being grateful for where I live. The sound of Africa has a cadence that is at once soothing and exhilarating – a lion’s roar, the cry of a fish eagle, the laughter of children, a frog chorus on a summer evening.
I love books, maps, chocolate, golden retrievers and planning! I feel so blessed that I have been able to work in two industries that have fulfilled my passions – a bookshop (think “You got mail”) and for the last 12 years, travel! My golden retriever sleeps under my desk whilst I get lost in the joy of creating a life-changing journey of discovery to Africa and hope that the traveller will have their wildest dreams exceeded and fall in love with the Africa I know and love.
There are a number of reasons to get out of bed in the morning but nothing can be as motivating as an eagerly awaited travel adventure. I have been blessed with a 23 year career in travel and the enjoyment of travel can only be matched by the enthusiasm and comradeship of those one chooses to travel with. Travel in this wonderful world inspires, motivates and rewards me. The thrill of expectation and the promise of the yet to be discovered is indeed a powerful ally.
There really is no place like Africa. The vast wilderness, the countless bio-sphere’s and diverse populations create the magical stage that draws travellers back again and again. A visit to Africa is an incredible experience and through my love for travel and Africa, I will offer you a journey that is driven by passion and care.
To create and deliver a life-changing journey of discovery in Africa for you.
To work with and support people and organisations who seek to protect our natural heritage and uplift local communities.
We believe it is an honor to be able to give back and we do so in different ways:
Valley Aids: Every year impoverished children from a local community, are invited to a Christmas party where games are played, food provided and each child is given a gift. For most this is the highlight of their year and the only gift they will receive. We give back by financial aid to purchase the gifts and food and by serving at the party. Watching the faces of children as they receive their gifts is our gift.
School fees: Education is the stepping stone to changing lives and so we choose someone to sponsor and we fund their education.
